(Stillwater, OK) – Wookies and zombies and superheroes, oh my! The Stillwater Public Library is eagerly anticipating LexiCon 2025, which takes place on Saturday, Oct. 25, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with events at locations throughout the Stillwater Cultural District. There will also be several pre-and-post events, with fun fandom activities taking place from Thursday through Sunday.

This year, the library will host a Smash Brothers video game tournament, community presented panels, live D&D, LARPing demos, fandom trivia, tabletop gaming and Pokémon meet ups.

Librarian Brenna Gilchrist, an avid player of Pokémon Go, is looking forward to interacting with other Pokémon enthusiasts.

“Pokémon will officially celebrate its 30th anniversary on Feb. 27, 2026,” Gilchrist said. “LexiCon will be a wonderful opportunity to meet other players and try to plan something in our community to commemorate 30 years of Pokémon in Stillwater.”

Jordan Stine, teen librarian, can’t wait for this year’s Smash Brothers tournament.

“Last year, the Tetris tournament was a blast,” Stine said. “We wanted to keep a video game component but decided to try a different game this year. We’re working closely with Oklahoma Scholastic Esports to make it an entertaining event for all ages. Esports groups from OSU and the High School will also be helping out.”

Smash Brothers tournament registration begins at 9 a.m. at the library in room 119. The tournament runs from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Prizes will be awarded, including a $75 gift card to Game Stop for first place, a $50 gift card to Knight Arms for second place and a $25 gift card to Legendary Comics for third place.

Several groups will be returning to the library this year, including Red Dirt RPG. Last year, they hosted an interactive Dungeons and Dragons event and will hold an expanded version this year.

“Red Dirt RPG’s event was incredibly popular last year, so this year, we gave them a bigger space and more time,” Stine said. “They’ll also be hosting a D&D trivia session.”

Live D&D will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., in the library’s second-floor auditorium. Their trivia session will occur from 2:30-3:30 p.m., in the third-floor reception room, along with several other themed drop-in trivia sessions.

“We took suggestions for events last year,” Stine said. “Trivia on various fandoms was recommended as an easy drop-in event. So, the library is holding trivia sessions throughout the day on several different themes.”

All trivia will be held in the third-floor reception room. Prizes will be awarded during most sessions. The schedule includes:

  • 10:30-11:15 a.m. – Anime Openings Trivia with Midnight Birdie
  • 11:30 a.m.-12:15 p.m. – Star Wars Trivia with Challenge Entertainment
  • 12:30-1:15 p.m. – Video Game Trivia with Challenge Entertainment
  • 1:30-2:15 p.m. – Superhero Trivia with Challenge Entertainment
  • 2:30-3:30 p.m. – D&D Trivia with Red Dirt RPG

Other returning groups in 2025 include LARPing demo groups Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA), Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA) and Amtgard. All groups will hold demos in the library courtyard, and both Amtgard and HEMA will also host panels.

In addition to panels on LARPing, the library will also host panels about group cosplay, the popular anime Sailor Moon and using graphic novels to encourage reading.

Oklahoma Tabletop Gamers will be set up in room 214 for the entire day to invite attendees to play and give feedback on games currently in development.

“There’s so much happening this year,” Gilchrist said. “We’ve added even more locations with free activities. Plus, since LexiCon is so close to Halloween, the vendors at the Community Center will be passing out candy to trick or treaters while supplies last.”
