Darr Set To Compete in 75th U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship

STILLWATER, Okla. – Incoming freshman Lucy Darr is set to compete in the 75th U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship from July 15-20 in Tarzana, California.

Darr joins the championship’s 156-player field at El Caballero Country Club after earning medalist honors at her qualifier in Omaha, Nebraska, carding a 1-over 73. She takes on the par-71, 6,347-yard layout as one of three golfers from Oklahoma.

The field will face two days of stroke play on Monday and Tuesday before advancing the low 64 scorers to the event’s match-play bracket. Match play opens on Wednesday with the Round of 64 and will continue through Friday to determine the two golfers for Saturday’s 36-hole championship match.

Considered the ultimate prize in junior golf, this USGA event grants the champion exemption status into all future U.S. Girls' Junior Championships for which she is age-eligible, the 2025 U.S. Women's Open Championship, the 2024 and 2025 U.S. Women's Amateur Championship and the 2025 Augusta National Women’s Amateur.

The U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship is open to amateur players who have not reached the age of 19 by July 20 and whose Handicap Index® does not exceed 5.4.

A native of Stillwater, Darr enters El Caballero Country Club two weeks removed from qualifying for the 124th U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship, a qualifier in which she won a six-person playoff for one spot. She will join rising sophomore Ellie Bushnell, who qualified with medalist honors, at Southern Hills Country Club from August 5-11.

Semifinal action of the 75th U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship will air on Peacock from 4-6 p.m. CT on Friday and on Golf Channel from 7-9 p.m. Saturday’s championship match airs on Peacock from 5-7 p.m. and on Golf Channel from 9-11 p.m.
