(FAYETTEVILE, Arkansas / February 15, 2019)—The Oklahoma State men’s and women’s track and field team claimed three wins Friday at the Arkansas Qualifier.

Aaliyah Birmingham once again improved her school record in the 60 meters.

After making it to the final round as the top qualifier, Birmingham again finished first. She ran a time of 7.33, which broke her own school record by two hundredths of a second.

Rilee Rigdon showed she is not only a force on the cross-country course, but also a good runner on the track. She won the 800 meters, beating out veteran teammates. She crossed the line with a time of 2:08.70.

Assistant coach Josh Langley said he was impressed by her race.

“Rilee had a gusty race,” Langley said. “She ran tough and closed out well.”

The Cowgirls’ best 4X400-meter relay team won their race, finishing the team race in 3.44.31.

On the men’s side, Garrett Calhoun finished as the runner-up in the 800 meters. He ran a 1:51.73, which was his season’s best time and missed out on a personal best by three hundredths of a second.

LaKyron Mays finished third in the 400 meters. He ran a time of 47.86 for his third top-five finish this season.

Blake Scott had a season-best mark in the pole vault. The All-American cleared 5.15m/16-10.75. It’s the first time he has gone over 5.00 meters this season. Langley said Scott had a great meet.

“Blake Scott’s coming on at the right time,” Langley said.

Mace Metcalf also cleared 4.70m/15-5 for the third consecutive competition.

Langley said it was a good meet overall.

We came out with some season bests,” Langley said. “Most importantly, we came out healthy.”
