(STILLWATER, Oklahoma / May 2, 2018) – For the fourth-straight season, the Oklahoma State women's tennis team will host the first and second rounds of the NCAA Tournament, it was announced on Tuesday afternoon. The Cowgirls are making their seventh-straight NCAA Tournament appearance, which is the second-longest streak in program history.

“It’s definitely exciting to host the first and second rounds four years in a row,” head coach Chris Young said. “It’s becoming a standard for us. That’s what you want your program to have is certain standards of excellence and that’s what we have.”

OSU will compete as the No. 8 overall seed in the tournament, and is set to matchup with No. 4 seed UMKC in the first round on Friday, May 4 at 4 p.m. Tulsa and LSU will play in the first round on Friday as well.

The winners of the first two matches will advance to face each other on Saturday at 3 p.m.

“We have a pretty good record at home here at the Greenwood Tennis Center,” Young said. “I like our chances at home. We definitely have some tough teams coming in. They’re three teams that will present their own challenges, but playing at home gives our girls a level of comfort.”

The Cowgirls are 19-4 overall on the season thus far, and finished second in the Big 12 with a 7-2 conference record despite only returning three letterwinners from their Elite Eight run a year ago. The team will be looking to tally its fourth-straight 20-win season. With a pair of wins next weekend, the program can also claim four Sweet 16 berths in as many seasons.

All-Session tickets for the event go on sale Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. by phone at 877-255-4678 or okstate.com/tickets.
