(IRVING, Texas / September 5, 2017) – For the second-straight week, an Oklahoma State player has been named the Big 12 Conference Freshman of the Week as Taylor Olson was honored with that title today, it was announced by the league office.

Last Sunday, playing in her hometown of San Antonio in a match at UTSA, Olson became the 11th player in OSU history to record three goals in a game as she notched a hat trick against the Roadrunners. The forward needed just 6:43 to achieve a feat that has been done just 16 times in program history as she collected goals at the 74:51, 77:58 and 81:34 marks.

Olson’s hat trick marked the first time since Krista Lopez recorded a school-record four goals against Arkansas-Little Rock in 2011 that an OSU player had scored three goals in a game.

Olson tallied three goals on four shots in just 46 minutes of action in two games last weekend and is now tied for the Big 12 lead with four goals on the season.

OSU has now had a Big 12 Player of the Week and two Big 12 Freshman of the Week winners in 2017. Charmé Morgan (player) and Kim Rodriguez (freshman) were each honored by the conference on Aug. 29.
