STILLWATER – Oklahoma State’s women’s tennis team concluded its fall season at the Big 12 Invite at the Greenwood Tennis Center on Sunday.   

  

In doubles action, Raquel Gonzalez and Ayumi Miyamoto captured a 6-2 victory over Baylor’s Anita Sahdiieva and Lyubov Kostenko.  

  

Kristina Novak and Alana Wolfberg fell to Oklahoma’s Alexandra Pisareva and Romana Cisovska, 6-3, while Amber Hochstatter and Sofia Rojas lost to Silvia Marie Costache and Malika Ngounoue of Kansas, 6-3.  

  

Singles followed during the afternoon as four Cowgirls struggled to find momentum. Wolfberg dropped her match against Alina Shcherbibiba of Baylor, 6-4, 6-0, Kansas’ Kylin Sadler bested Hochstatter, 7-5, 6-0, and Novak lost, 6-4, 6-2, to Miska Kadleckova of Iowa State. Miyamoto was defeated in the finals, 6-2, 6-2, by Oklahoma's Dana Guzman. 

 

Rojas tallied on another win for the weekend after taking down Texas Tech’s Olivia Peet, 6-0, 6-4. The final match of the season ended on a high note as Gonzalez secured the match against Oklahoma’s Pisareva in the tiebreaker, 6-7 (4), 6-3, 18-16.  

  

The Cowgirls will begin their spring season Jan. 13-15 at the Freeman Memorial tournament in Las Vegas. OSU will return home to the Greenwood Tennis Center on Jan. 27 to compete in the ITA Kickoff Weekend.
