(STILLWATER, Oklahoma / Sept. 7, 2017) – Oklahoma State women’s tennis coach Chris Young released the team’s 2017-18 schedule on Thursday. Highlighted by visits from the reigning national champion Florida Gators and perennial top-25 program Miami, the Cowgirls’ home slate is loaded with 15 dual matches at the Greenwood Tennis Center this spring.

“The beginning of a new year is always exciting, and even more so when you look at our schedule this year,” Young said. “We will always help our players have opportunities to compete at the highest level and against the best competition, which this schedule represents.  I am not only excited for our players, but also our fans, as we will bring 15 quality home matches to the Michael and Anne Greenwood Tennis Center this spring.”

The Cowgirls will look to build off a 2016-17 campaign that saw the squad go 25-6 and advance to the NCAA quarterfinals to follow up the program’s second-straight Big 12 regular season title.

OSU will open up its fall schedule Sept. 15-17 in the Bahamas as the Cowgirls will head to Nassau to compete at the Albany Collegiate Invitational. For the second consecutive year, the Greenwood Tennis Center will host the $25,000 Stillwater Pro Tennis Classic, set for Sept. 24-Oct. 1.

A Jan. 20 doubleheader with Oral Roberts (1:30 p.m.) and Abilene Christian (5:30 p.m.) will open a six-match homestand for the Cowgirls that also includes a pair of ITA Kickoff Weekend (Jan. 26-27) matches against Arizona State and either TCU or Ole Miss, along with contests against Arkansas (Feb. 3) and Florida (Feb. 7).

The Cowgirls then hit the road to Madison, Wis., for the ITA National Team Indoor Championships, which begin Feb. 9, before heading back home for a pair of matches against Miami (Feb. 17) and Pacific (Feb. 18) at the Greenwood Tennis Center.

OSU will face off with powerhouse UCLA on March 14 in Los Angeles, then begin its non-conference schedule that weekend, as Iowa State (March 17) and West Virginia (March 18) come to Stillwater. The Cowgirls will play three of the following four matches on the road, starting with a Big 12 road trip to Baylor on March 23 and then Texas on March 25. The Pokes return home for a date with Wichita State on March 30 in Stillwater, before heading south to Norman, Okla., for the first of two Bedlam matchups the following day.
