(STILLWATER, Oklahoma / November 2, 2017) – Twenty-four match-ups against 2017 NCAA Tournament participants highlights the Oklahoma State softball squad's 2018 spring schedule.
The Cowgirls open the season with a trip to Tempe, Arizona from Feb. 9-11 for the second-annual Kajikawa Classic. While in the southwest, OSU will face Oregon State, Arizona, Missouri, New Mexico and Western Michigan over a three-day stretch.
Oklahoma State will clash with Missouri again the following week, as the Cowgirls head to Clearwater, Florida to once again compete in the Michele Smith Pediatric Cancer Foundation Invitational. They'll also face Tennessee, Florida Atlantic, South Florida and Oakland over the three-day even in Florida.
The Pokes' final out-of-state tournament runs from Feb. 22-24, as the Cowgirls also return to Palm Springs, California to compete in the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic. OSU will face Wisconsin, Oregon State again, Oregon, Mississippi State and UC Davis over its three-day stay in the Golden State.
Following the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic, Oklahoma State will compete in Stillwater for the first time in 2018 when it hosts the Mizuno Classic March 2-4. It is the 11th-straight year that the Cowgirls have hosted the tournament in Stillwater, and this season, they'll welcome Nebraska-Omaha, Maine and Saint Francis to Cowgirl Stadium for a series of matchups.
One more tournament dots the Cowgirls' non-conference schedule, as they play host to the OSU Hall of Fame Classic. The tournament, which will consist of the Cowgirls, Purdue, Drake, Connecticut, Saint Francis and Pacific, will take place March 9-11 in Oklahoma City.
Over spring break, the Cowgirls will split time in Stillwater and on the road, as they take on Illinois State at Cowgirl Stadium on March 13 and then head to Conway, Arkansas for a clash with Central Arkansas the following day.
Late March is where an already-impressive scheduled begins to ramp us, with OSU heading to Tulsa for the first of a home-and-home series with Tulsa on March 21. Two days later, the Pokes open Big 12 play in Stillwater with a three-game set against Iowa State.
After Big 12 play beings, the Cowgirls begin another home-and-home series, this one with Wichita State, on March 27 in Stillwater before heading to Lubbock, Texas for a weekend series against Texas Tech.
April 4 will see Tulsa arrive at Cowgirl Stadium for the second half of the teams' series and then OSU will head north to Lawrence to face Kansas on April 6 in its third Big 12 series of the season.
The split between non-conference and conference action remains intact heading into mid-April, as midweek affairs with UT Arlington and Missouri State on April 10 and 11 dot the schedule before the Cowgirls' final homestand of the regular season against Baylor, which will take place April 13-15.
Oklahoma State heads back to Kansas for the second half of its series with Wichita State on April 18, and then heads to Austin for a three-game series with Texas, beginning on April 20.
OSU's final non-conference action will take the Cowgirls to Los Angeles, where they will face off with both South Dakota and UCLA twice over a two-day stretch from April 27-28.
The Cowgirls will return to their home state for the Bedlam series against Oklahoma, which begins on May 2. OSU and the Sooners will face-off three times over four days, with the first and third meeting taking place in Norman, while the second contest will be played at Cowgirl Stadium.
Bedlam will mark the end of the regular season for Oklahoma State, but the Cowgirls will return to Oklahoma City the following weekend for the 2018 Big 12 Championship, which takes place at ASA Hall of Fame Stadium May 11-12.
