STILLWATER – Oklahoma State continued preparation for the upcoming season with a dominant 3-0 win over Central Oklahoma in a preseason exhibition match Saturday night at Neal Patterson Stadium.

The Cowgirls had three goal scorers in the contest as Alex Morris, Grace Yochum and Ally Jackson each found the back of the net.

Combining for the shutout in goal were Jordan Nytes, who made four saves in the opening half, and Ary Purifoy, who notched a pair of saves over the final 45 minutes.

Morris notched the first goal of the contest just five minutes into the game with a beautiful curling effort from just outside the 18-yard box that went past the UCO goalkeeper.

The Cowgirls added a second score only three minutes later when Yochum capitalized on a Logan Heausler shot that was saved, with the short rebound attempt putting OSU up 2-0 up just 8:37 into the match.

With nine minutes left in the first half, the Bronchos had a handball in the penalty box, resulting in the only yellow card of the match. Jackson stepped up and slotted the penalty kick into the back of the net to extend the OSU lead to three.

The Cowgirls finished with a 23-7 advantage in shots in the match, while also earning the only five corner kicks in the game. Both teams finished with six saves.

OSU opens the regular season Thursday with a road test at Omaha. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
