(WAIKOLOA, Hawaii / February 9, 2019) – Oklahoma State’s men’s golf team opened its spring slate with a 10-shot victory at the Amer Ari Invitational on Saturday, posting a closing 11-under 277 at Waikaloa Kings’ Course.

The top-ranked Cowboys, who won the event a year ago as well, finished at 47-under 817. Auburn finished second at 827 and Texas was third at 829.

OSU’s win marked the first time a team has won consecutive titles at the event since Georgia Tech won the 1999 and 2000 events.

Additionally, the Cowboys have now emerged as the tournament’s champion on eight occasions and have produced its medalist six times.

Sophomore Matthew Wolff earned his fourth consecutive full-field victory, finishing at 18-under 198 after firing a closing 65. He finished three shots clear of the field and now owns the school record for victories by a sophomore after winning three times in the fall in addition to his triumph in Hawaii.

Senior Zach Bauchou closed with a 68 to finish tied for second place at 15-under 201.

Junior Viktor Hovland signed for a closing 72 to come in with an 11-under total of 205 and in sole possession of eighth place.

Senior Hayden Wood signed for a 72 on Saturday and tied for 66th place at 3-over 219.

Junior Ferdinand Müller competed individually at the event, carding a 72 to finish at 217 and tied for 54th place.

The Cowboys will be back in action on Feb. 18 when they begin action at The Prestige at PGA West.
