STILLWATER – Oklahoma State honored its student-athletes and teams at the 2025 Cowboy Choice Awards, presented Friday night at the McKnight Center for the Performing Arts.

The top team awards went to the NCAA-champion Cowboy golf team and the Cowgirl tennis squad. The top individual awards went to Cowboy Athlete of the Year Wyatt Hendrickson (wrestling), Cowgirl Athlete of the Year Emma Robbins (women’s track and field) and Coach of the Year Alan Bratton.

Featuring a five-man lineup consisting of a freshman and four sophomores, the men’s golf team handled Virginia in the national final to claim the 12th NCAA team title in program history. The team was led by All-Americans Preston Stout and Ethan Fang, both of whom went on to win major individual events following the season, with Stout claiming medalist honors at U.S. Amateur at The Olympic Club Lake Course in San Francisco and Fang claiming The Amateur Championship at Royal St. George’s in Scotland. While those two captured most of the headlines throughout the season, sophomores Eric Lee and Gaven Lane and freshman Filip Fahlberg-Johnsson were impactful performers at the NCAA Championships. 

Led by the All-America doubles team of Anastasiya Komar and Rose Marie Nijkamp, the women’s tennis team went 22-8 on the year. The Cowgirls hit their stride at the NCAA Championships, starting with a sweep of Tulsa in the first round. OSU made national headlines by toppling No. 6 Oklahoma on its home courts in the second round to advance to the Sweet 16. The Cowgirls followed that up with a win over traditional powerhouse Stanford to advance to the Elite Eight, where they eventually fell to No. 3 Michigan.

Hendrickson was honored as Cowboy Athlete of the Year after being recognized as the 2025 recipient of the Dan Hodge Trophy, which is presented to the national wrestler of the year, regardless of weight class. Sporting a 27-0 overall record, Hendrickson earned Most Dominant Wrestler at the NCAA Championships and was also Big 12 Wrestler of the Year. His signature victory came at the NCAA Championships, where he stunned Olympic Gold Medalist and two-time Hodge Winner Gable Steveson from Minnesota to win his first individual national championship. Following the collegiate season, Hendrickson earned a spot on Team USA at the Senior World Championships, set for September in Croatia.

Robbins claimed Cowgirl Athlete of the Year following a fourth-place finish in the hammer throw at the NCAA Championships. In her lone season at OSU, she broke the school record in the weight throw and in the hammer throw a combined five times. A transfer from Kansas State, Robbins is a three-time All-American who ended her career with one conference title and six runner-up finishes between the indoor and outdoor seasons.

Among the other Cowboy Choice Award winners are Brian Musau, who took home Cowboy Best Individual Performance for beating an NCAA champion and setting a new NCAA indoor meet record en route to winning the NCAA 5,000 meter championship; the women’s basketball team, which dropped No. 9 TCU to earn Cowgirl Upset of the Year honors; and the baseball team, which took down No. 7 Georgia on its home field at NCAA Regionals to secure Cowboy Upset of the Year honors.
