STILLWATER – Brennan Holt’s walk-off grand slam in the seventh inning lifted Oklahoma State to a series sweep of Baylor with a 13-2 run-rule win Sunday at O’Brate Stadium.

With the victory, the 15th-ranked Cowboys improved to 20-5 overall and 4-2 in Big 12 play, while the Bears fell to 9-15 overall and 2-4 in the conference.

Nolan Schubart and David Mendham both hit their eighth home run of the season for the Cowboys, while Holt went 2-for-5 with four RBIs and slugged the first homer of his career.

Nolan McLean also had a strong day at the plate, racking up three hits and scoring twice.

Juaron Watts-Brown stifled the Baylor hitters all afternoon, working six innings and tying a season-high with 13 strikeouts while allowing just two runs on four hits. With the win, the right-hander moved to 3-1 on the season.

Schubart’s third-inning blast to right-center field put the Cowboys up 2-0 before back-to-back, two-out doubles from Carson Benge and Colin Brueggemann added three more runs in the fifth inning to make the score 5-0.

Mendham’s three-run homer in the sixth opened the Cowboys lead to 8-0 and tied him with Riggio and Schubart for the conference and team lead in round trippers.

Gabe Davis entered the sixth in relief of Watts-Brown with two Bears on base, and after a HBP and a fielder’s choice, Davis got Baylor to hit into an inning-ending double-play. The Bears scored two runs in the inning but left two on-base.

Holt put the Bears into hibernation in the seventh inning with a grand slam into the visiting bullpen to secure the run-rule victory.

The Cowboys will be back in action on the road Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. for the second midweek clash of the season against Dallas Baptist. OSU run-ruled the Patriots in the first game, winning 20-4 in seven innings in Stillwater.
