(STILLWATER, Oklahoma / Sept. 27, 2017) Oklahoma State will look to continue its success under sixth-year head coach Josh Holliday in 2018, and the Cowboys will face a formidable schedule during the upcoming season.

Eleven NCAA Tournament teams from a year ago highlight OSU’s 2018 slate, with five of those making trips to Stillwater.

“I like the challenges this schedule presents us,” said Holliday, who has led his alma mater to the NCAA Tournament each of his first five seasons at the helm. “We’re going on the road early and playing some quality opponents and, as always, our midweek opponents give us as good a midweek schedule as anyone in the country with the outstanding play in the Midwest — every Tuesday and Wednesday we’re playing NCAA Regional-type opponents. And once again, the Big 12 should be just as good as it has been if not better, with a number of teams returning deep, experienced rosters.

“We know every time we suit up, we’re going to playing against some of the better teams in the country, and that’s how we like it. We continue to expose our team to different styles of play in different regions of the country and ultimately build for a championship run.”

OSU opens the 2018 season Feb. 17-19 with a three-game road series at Texas State before returning home for a six-game homestand. The Cowboys’ home opener will be Feb. 20 against Oral Roberts, one of three scheduled games against the Golden Eagles in 2018, and they will host Marist, another NCAA Tournament team, later that week before a two-game midweek series with Little Rock on Feb. 27-28.

Up next, the Cowboys will head west for a three-game weekend series at Arizona State (March 2-4) before facing a midweek road test against a perennial NCAA tourney team in Missouri State on March 7.

OSU will also host non-conference weekend series against Eastern Michigan (March 9-11) and Seton Hall (March 16-18) before opening Big 12 Conference play.

For the fifth-straight season and 13th time in the last 15 years, OSU begins Big 12 play on the road as the Cowboys will be at Texas on March 23-25. OSU also travels to Kansas State, West Virginia and Baylor for league series.

The Cowboys’ conference home-opening series is against TCU on March 30-April 1, and they will also host Kansas and Texas Tech in 2018.

The Bedlam Series against Oklahoma is set for April 27-29, with the rivals squaring off in Oklahoma City on Friday, April 27, before moving to Tulsa for the final two games.

Postseason play gets underway at the Big 12 Baseball Championship in Oklahoma City on May 24-28, with NCAA Regionals beginning June 1. The 2017 College World Series is set to begin on June 16.
