(STILLWATER, Oklahoma / March 20, 2017) - Cody Canada joins Kaitlin Butts and Mike Hosty as stage hosts for this year’s Gypsy Café on Wednesday, April 26th, 2017. Jason Boland, who met fellow Stragglers band mate Brad Rice while the two attended OSU, also joins the lineup. Nine musicians selected through an open call by the Oklahoma Music + Film Office include: Blake Parks, Bryce Dicus, Chris Hoffmeier, Dan Martin, Kalo, Katie Williams, Matt Mason, T.Z. Wright and Zac Wenzel.
This night of musical discovery, presented by Reyka Vodka and Sailor Jerry Rum, features acoustic pairings of Oklahoma’s best songwriters swapping songs and stories inspired by the godfather of Red Dirt music, Bob Childers. Each forty-five minute acoustic set will be staggered at each venue to allow fans to catch the most music and each artist pairing will play at least one Bob Childers’ original. Sets will be staggered across three venues, culminating with an all-artist finale on the main stage at Eskimo Joe’s at 11pm.
The all-star lineup of more than 60 Oklahoma songwriters is rounded out by Brandon Jenkins, Mike McClure, Aaron Woods, Ali Harter, Ben Han, Ben McKenzie, Bob Wiles, Brad James, Brad Piccolo, Brandon Clark, Brandon Jackson, Brett Franzmann, Bryon White, Buffalo Rogers, Cale Lester, Chad Sullins, Chance Anderson, Chris Lee Becker, Cody Brewer, Craig Skinner, Dan Siebert, Deana Hopper, Dustin Pittsley, Dylan Stewart, Gabe Marshall, Gene Collier, Gene Williams, Gib Stones, Jacob Tovar, Jake Moffat, Jesse Aycock, Jim Paul Blair, Joe Baxter, Joe Mack, John Cooper, John Williams, Kierston White, Kim Reynolds, Kurt Nielsen, Larry Spears, Lauren Barth, Monica Taylor, Paul Benjaman, Read Southall, Richelle Sigrist, Rick Reiley, Sam Valliere, Sarah Barker Huhn, Scott Carson, Scott Evans, Thomas Trapp, Travis Fite, Travis Kidd, Wink Burcham, Sherman Connelly and more.
All proceeds from the festival benefit musicians through the Red Dirt Relief Fund, a non-profit organization that provides a safety net of critical assistance to Oklahoma musicians. Operated by an all-volunteer Board, RDRF has granted over $62,00 to musicians in the state since 2012. Bob Childers’ Gypsy Café raised $22,000 for the cause in 2016, funding the full grant load for last year.
