Stillwater, OK--The Red Dirt music sound is gaining more recognition across the country, with artists like Turnpike Troubadours, the return of Cross Canadian Ragweed, Parker McCollum, and more selling out arenas and stadiums nationwide. Leading the way in delivering this sound is the Calf Fry Music Festival, taking place May 1-3, 2025, in Stillwater, Oklahoma—the birthplace of Red Dirt Country. Now celebrating its thirty-third annual festival, Calf Fry has played a major role in introducing this genre to music fans from nearly all fifty states.
What began in 1992 as a local festival aimed at attracting students from Oklahoma State University, has grown into a nationwide sensation. Over the years, Calf Fry has become increasingly popular with adults aged 25-54, with RV spots selling out each year, drawing attendees from across the United States. The event provides a significant boost to Stillwater's local economy, with hotels and restaurants in the area seeing increased revenue during the festival.
Calf Fry has earned its reputation as the premier Red Dirt festival, known for showcasing the next generation of leading artists. As the event draws near, it's clear that bands are eager to play at this prestigious festival.
Over the course of three days, 18 bands will perform, with headliners including Treaty Oak Revival, Wyatt Flores, and Ian Munsick, along with direct support from Ole 60, Tanner Usrey, and Casey Donahew.
