Stillwater’s Downtown Halloween Festival on October 25th summons little princesses and pirates outfitted for a night of carnival style games, candy, and food truck cuisine. Downtown Stillwater merchants become super heroes and goblins by dusk to greet trick-or-treaters and celebrate the season. The air becomes crisp with sun up, so plan a refreshing morning hike on one of Lake McMurtry's many trails. We recommend the yellow route, whether you complete the full 6.2 mile loop, or just take a leisurely jaunt out and back as far as you prefer. The trail is clearly marked and well maintained, perfect for a cool weather hike with a view of the water along the way.

America's Greatest Homecoming Celebration had humble beginnings at the start of the twentieth century as a small town harvest carnival in Stillwater. Now with its 96th year upon us, Homecoming has become a week-long celebration of epic proportions, reportedly drawing 80,000 fans and alumni to Stillwater each year.
